10:18 PM, October 30, 2006Welcome to the BlogHoster development blog! We decided to create this page to provide BlogHoster administrators with an easy way to check on the progress of future updates and upcoming patches. So, without further ado, here's my first entry.
I spent most of my time today replacing the current WYSIWYG editor with FCKEditor, a fantastic, multi-browser-capable text editor. I've included a screenshot below!
In addition to the new text editor, I finally fixed the issues people were having with various links when using the subdomain-style URLs. This has been an ongoing problem, so hopefully this patch will solve it once and for all.
I also dedicated some time to researching the spam-attack problems that some of you are experiencing. I may have found a fix for it - check the topic above to see my potential solution. If anyone has any other suggestions, I'd love to hear them (c@webligo.com).
Tomorrow my plan is to solve the password-resetting issue by adding a security question that will be required for the retrieval of the password. If anyone strongly objects to this solution, please post a reply to the topic and I'll take your thoughts into consideration. I'm also planning to paginate the Browse Users (browse.php) page to reduce server load caused by that file. With a little luck (if I can find a quick solution to the spam problem), I'll have this patch out by next Monday (Nov. 6).
